IDEAL FOR FIRESIDE CHATS: THE KAMINSAAL
Freiburg’s cathedral architect personally built the mighty open fireplace in this room in the 15th century. The fireplace remained, and so did the name – ‘Kamin’ means ‘fireplace’ in German. The Kaminsaal enhances large events by offering a cosy place to retreat to and enabling intimate chats in small groups – the essence of successful receptions and banquets. Readings and small workshops can also be held here in an atmospheric setting. They can even be enhanced on request by the crackling of a cosy fire, which our service team will be glad to set up and monitor. A spiral staircase gives direct access to the courtyard outside. Convince yourself virtually of the historic ambience of the Kaminsaal.
